Planning advertising campaign is to choose the tools that will best promote your product or service. Proper planning allows the creation of a comprehensive and effective whole, which for the client simply means greater profits. Since advertising campaigns, especially on television, are not cheap, it is worth choosing tools that will have maximum effect at a reasonable price. Television commercials are usually films that are made with really high budgets, expensive sets and a large number of people employed, both actors and production crew. Animated commercials are an excellent alternative to the expensive film spots that are made for TV campaigns. Its duration can be similar or even longer, the costs are lower and the production process itself is faster and cheaper. However, how can such an animation be produced in order to simultaneously save on costly production and create effective advertising material that captures the audience's attention better than traditional forms?
Not all advertising is equal
When producing television commercials, it is very common to look for savings when setting the budget. And such savings can be found in every area, but it soon becomes apparent that this is done to the detriment of the quality of the film. And a poor quality TV commercial, with a poor idea, actors and execution, means that money will be thrown down the drain and the whole production ineffective. The customer will not be encouraged to buy their products in this way, they will lose trust in the brand and ultimately the advertising campaign will be a loss. Shortening the duration of the advertisement will also have less effect. After all, not all ideas can be implemented in a few seconds.
Perhaps a commercial animation?
The use of advertising animation instead of the traditional form of film allows any effect to be achieved. This does not mean that such a solution is cheaper - after all, animation can cost several thousand, but also several hundred. However, 2D animation, using simple graphic elements, allows a great saving in relation to a costly film set and the entire production process. Such animations are becoming more and more fashionable, especially if customers want to explain the operation of an application, product or brand activity. In such cases, a classic film will not work at all or much less than an animation. Advertising animation also has the advantage that it can be freely modified once it has been created. This is because it requires the use of computer programmes and does not require a second team. This significantly reduces production costs.
When to create an animation?
In addition to the elements already mentioned, animation works well when it is consistent with the overall campaign concept. Animation will better reach specific target groups, not all consumers. Therefore, it is best used in product advertisements for young people, who show a better understanding of the conventions of simplified product presentation. However, this is not always the case and the target group for animation should not be limited. Much depends on the product itself, brand awareness, the overall campaign strategy and many other components that determine the success of a campaign.
Which animation to choose?
Choosing an animation is not only a question of a scenario and an idea for the whole thing, but above all of choosing the right tools. If we want to show the operation of an application, product or activity in a simplified way, we can invest in motion animation, i.e. two-dimensional animation. In this way, we can greatly simplify the message to make it clearer and more transparent for the viewer. However, if our aim is to have a very realistic effect or to show individual features of a product or process, a better solution is to use 3D animation, which allows us to better illustrate details, cross-sections of products, complex processes, impossible to show realistically.
How much does animation cost?
Are advertising animations expensive? Yes and no. It all depends on its type, duration, the means used or level of complexity. As we mentioned, an animation can be really inexpensive, but also cost several hundred thousand PLN if we decide on a three-dimensional animation. It all depends on the client's preferences, needs and budget. Surely the worst idea is to save on the quality of animation. Choosing a cheap studio or someone with little experience can result in a poor animation, which is counterproductive. Which studio and artists should you choose? First of all, it is worth checking what realisations are included in the portfolio and whether the style, quality and effect is what we expect. It is worth betting on experienced artists who can guarantee that the work will be delivered on time and in the right quality.
What benefits?
For any client who invests in advertising animation, the most important thing is for such animation to be as effective as possible. The ultimate goal and priority is profit from selling products, promoting the brand or maintaining the company's image, and it is these goals that the animation is supposed to achieve. The effectiveness of animation largely depends on the quality of execution and a carefully thought-out campaign strategy. When an animation, based on a good idea, delights in the manner, level and quality of execution, there is a high probability that it will become popular with audiences and quickly contribute to brand promotion. In summary, animation can be an excellent promotional tool, as well as replacing an advertising film and promoting a brand just as effectively.
