Animated film is primarily associated with entertainment, cinema and cult cartoons. However, animated films have much more potential and application than we think....
Animation can very faithfully reproduce the real world, views, situations. It can also show a stylised reality, environment, setting or characters. Creating a fictional world and everything that happens in it is very time-consuming, creative work, usually many people. First of all, the rule is...there are no rules! An animated film is a stylised animation - the imagination of the creators, anything can happen here. After all, this is what gave rise to the cult cinema and TV cartoons we know all over the world!
Realistic animation
- When creating this type of animation, we take into account all the laws of physics, phenomena, processes taking place.
Stylised animation
- When creating such an animation, all tricks are allowed! We create a new world, it can be surreal, impossible, exaggerated. The colours, the characters, the laws governing this world and the situations can be completely irrational. Stylized animation can make a meal or reference to the realistic world, suggest.
Since animated films have gained such a huge following and appreciation from audiences, they have greatly expanded their potential and use. Animated film is no longer just cartoons for the big screen, it is:
- promotional videos
- TV, Internet, other LED screen advertising
- product videos
- instructions
- clips
- company materials
The sympathy and positive reception that animations evoke makes us watch them with great curiosity and intrigue. This enables us to present even difficult, seemingly uninteresting information in a light and attractive way.
We created an animated film for RV Storage Depot that shows the journey of an RV rented from them. The animation, although stylised, has very strong underpinnings and references to the real world. However, it is shown in other dimensions and planes. The end result was mind-blowing - we showed the campervan's journey through many different locations lightly, visually, in bright colours. The suggestions and references are unambiguous and relate brilliantly to the real world.
The premise of this film was to show the journey and possibilities of the campervan. So we had to invent, model, create the camper - the main character. Immediately after him in the same way, we created every element appearing in the film, a composition. To set them in motion. Then the script was created - very dynamic, fun, positive. We used the cinematic method for this.
Kinematic method
- This method assumes that the creator determines the movement of the objects themselves. Each object reacts and behaves exactly as we want it to, according to the scenario and our imagination. The creator himself gives life, determines the manner of movement. It is the opposite method to the physical method, in which we define the initial conditions and the objects react according to the laws of physics.
Of course, when creating an animation, it is important to bear in mind the correct fall of shadows, play of light, reflections of colours. The use of all these indicators defines good creators. Such as WE!
